Kick off your weekend with your hands in the clay! Hand-Built Bowls is a relaxed, one-night pottery class where you’ll learn to make your own functional clay bowls without a wheel, using just your hands and a few simple tools.

You’ll start with a quick introduction to clay, how to prepare it and what you’ll be making. Then you’ll learn slab rolling: how to roll clay into smooth, even sheets that can be cut, shaped and built into just about anything.

Next comes the fun part: turning a flat slab into a bowl! Using a template, you’ll cut your clay into shape, then score and join the edges to bring the sides up into a beautiful, curved bowl. You’ll smooth the seams, refine the rim and add texture or decorative details to make each bowl your own. You can add holes and make it a berry bowl!

Along the way, you’ll get hands-on guidance and tips, and plenty of time to play, experiment and make each piece your own. There’s no pressure to be perfect. Handmade is supposed to look handmade!

After class, our staff will take care of the glazing and kiln firing, so all you have to do is come back to pick up your finished bowls in December (we’ll email you when its ready). You’ll have the option of clear or green as the final color.

By the end of the evening, you’ll leave with new skills, a fun Friday night out, and up to two handmade bowls on their way to becoming pottery you can use and enjoy at home, perfect for snacks, trinkets, salads or serving.

Please note: Finished pieces need time to dry and go through kiln firing, and will be ready for pickup in December. This means they might not be ready by Christmas, so you’ll be able to keep your work and gift the experience of coming back to create with your friends and family instead.

What you’ll make: Up to two handmade slab-built bowls, including: (1) bowls cut from a template and shaped by hand, (2) smooth, joined seams and a refined rim, (3) and your choice of texture or decorative details.

What you’ll learn:

  • Clay basics: wedging, preparing and handling clay

  • Rolling even clay slabs

  • Cutting slabs using a bowl template

  • Scoring and joining edges to form a bowl shape

  • Smoothing seams and refining the rim

  • Adding texture and decorative details

  • How the glazing and firing process works

Skill level: Beginner. No previous experience required.

Age restriction: 14+ years.

Who's this class for: Beginners, date nights, friends, families, teens, adults, and anyone looking for a creative way to spend the evening.

Food & drink policy: Non-alcoholic drinks are welcome as long as they are in a container with a lid. No food.

What to bring/ wear: All class materials and aprons will be provided. Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting muddy, and tie back long hair. Short fingernails make working with clay easier!

Class size: This class needs at least 4 students to run and is limited to 12 students max. If minimum enrollment isn't met, we'll let you know and give you a full refund.

NOTE: Due to kiln shipping delays, our kiln will not be here until late November. We’ll be firing around the clock to catch-up, but expect delays in getting your piece. We’ll ask students that are not in a rush to please inform the staff so we can better prioritize firing.

Spend an afternoon creating a glowing piece of fall art that catches the light! In Fall Stained Glass, you'll design and build your own handmade stained glass piece, choosing from four seasonal designs: a mysterious raven, a wise owl, a classic autumn leaf or a cheerful pumpkin.

Many stained glass classes hand you pre-cut pieces and simply have you put them together. Not here! In this class, you'll learn the full process from start to finish, the same way stained glass artists have worked for centuries. You'll score and cut your own glass, grind and shape each piece to fit your pattern, wrap the edges in copper foil and solder everything together into a finished piece.

It's a true hands-on experience, and our Instructor will guide you through every step. Even if you've never held a glass cutter before, you'll walk away with real skills you can keep building on.

The best part is choosing your colors. You'll work with high-quality art glass from a respected art glass manufacturer, sourced locally right here in DFW. Rich ambers, deep oranges, warm golds and moody blacks will let you make your design your own, so no two pieces will ever look alike. Hang it in a window and watch it glow with the autumn sun.

Whether you're keeping it for your own fall décor or giving it as a one-of-a-kind gift, you'll love seeing the light shine through something you cut, shaped and built with your own hands.

By the end of the day, you'll leave with a finished stained glass suncatcher and the confidence to keep exploring this beautiful craft.

What you'll make: One handmade stained glass suncatcher in your choice of design: (1) a raven, (2) an owl, (3) an autumn leaf, (4) or a pumpkin.

What you'll learn:

  • The basics of stained glass and glass safety

  • How to score, cut and break glass

  • Grinding and shaping glass pieces to fit a pattern

  • Wrapping glass pieces with copper foil

  • Soldering your piece together

  • Selecting and combining glass colors

Skill level: Beginner. No previous experience required.

Age restriction: 18+ years.

Who's this class for: Beginners, adults, friends, date nights, and anyone who loves fall décor and handmade gifts.

Food & drink policy: Non-alcoholic drinks are welcome as long as they are in a container with a lid. No food.

What to bring/ wear: All glass, tools and supplies are provided, including safety glasses and gloves. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes with sleeves you can roll up, and tie back long hair. Come dressed comfortably and ready to create!

Spend an evening finally getting to know that sewing machine! Whether it’s brand new in the box, a hand-me-down from Grandma or one that’s been collecting dust in the closet, Intro to Your Sewing Machine will help you go from nervous to confident, one stitch at a time.

In this hands-on, beginner-friendly class, you’ll bring your own machine and learn how to use it. Since every machine is a little different, you’ll learn on the one you’ll actually be sewing with at home. Our Instructor will walk you through each step, from setting up and threading your machine to winding a bobbin and adjusting your stitches.

Once you’re set up, it’s time to sew! Using scrap fabric, you’ll make simple practice pieces to build your skills: sewing straight lines, turning corners, following curves and locking your stitches in place. There’s no pressure to be perfect. This is your time to experiment, make mistakes and get comfortable.

You’ll also learn how to fix the most common sewing hiccups, like tangled thread, skipped stitches and a jammed bobbin, plus simple care tips to keep your machine running smoothly for years to come.

By the end of the evening, you’ll leave with the confidence to sit down at your machine and start sewing on your own, ready to take on your first real project.

What you’ll make: Simple practice pieces using scrap fabric, including: (1) straight-line stitching practice, (2) corners and curves, (3) and a stitch sampler to keep as a reference for your machine.

What you’ll learn:

  • The parts of your sewing machine and what they do

  • How to thread your machine and wind and insert a bobbin

  • Choosing and adjusting stitch length, width and tension

  • Sewing straight lines, corners and curves

  • Backstitching to lock your seams

  • Troubleshooting common sewing problems

  • Basic machine care and maintenance

Skill level: Beginner. No previous experience required.

Age restriction:10+ years.

Who’s this class for: Beginners, new machine owners, anyone who inherited a machine, future quilters, and anyone who wants to learn to sew.

Food & drink policy: Non-alcoholic drinks are welcome as long as they are in a container with a lid. No food.

What to bring/ wear: Please bring your own sewing machine, along with its power cord, foot pedal, bobbins, needle and thread. Scrap fabric for practice is provided. Come dressed comfortably and ready to create!

Don’t have a machine? We have 4 sewing machines available to rent for $10. Rentals are first come, first served, so add one at checkout to reserve yours.

Class size: This class needs at least 3 students to run and is limited to 12 students max. If minimum enrollment isn’t met, we’ll let you know and give you a full refund.
