Gnome or Santa Needle Felting | Nov 15th, 1-3 PM

$30.00

Sunday, November 15, 2026 | 1:00-3:00 PM (2 hours)
Instructor: Sharon Heard

Spend a cozy holiday afternoon discovering the calming art of needle felting! In this class, you’ll turn soft, fluffy wool into your own handmade gnome or Santa bottle topper, one gentle poke at a time. This class is BYOB and snacks are allowed.

Needle felting is a simple but magical craft. Using a special barbed needle, you’ll repeatedly poke loose wool fibers, causing them to tangle and tighten together. Little by little, the wool firms up and takes shape, letting you sculpt soft, three-dimensional pieces with nothing more than wool, a needle and your own two hands.

You’ll shape your topper to slip right over the neck of a wine bottle, then bring your character to life with a tall pointed hat, a round little nose and a big fluffy beard. Choose a whimsical gnome or a jolly Santa, then add your own colors and finishing touches. Whether yours turns out cheerful, sleepy or a little bit mischievous, it’ll be full of personality.

Bottle toppers are the perfect way to dress up any holiday gift. Pop one on a bottle of wine, olive oil or sparkling cider for a hostess gift, a neighbor, a coworker or a holiday party exchange, and it becomes a gift that stands out from the rest. Long after the bottle is empty, your felted friend can come back out year after year as holiday décor.

It’s a slow, relaxing and surprisingly satisfying art form, perfect for unwinding and letting your creativity take the lead. Because every piece is shaped by hand, no two will ever look alike.

By the end of class, you’ll leave with a charming, one-of-a-kind gnome or Santa bottle topper ready to dress up your next holiday gift, along with a new skill you can keep exploring at home.
